Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions

How can I get access to the yWorkflow library?

Due to a significant increase of inquiries and to ensure the highest level of support for our partners, we are currently managing new access through a phased program.

To request access, please contact our team at contact@yworkflow.com. We will be happy to discuss your use case and the onboarding process.

What is driving the recent wave of interest for yWorkflow?

In short: Artificial Intelligence.

The latest version of yWorkflow introduces powerful capabilities for integrating Artificial Intelligence directly into any business process. This ability to plug cutting-edge AI services into established, mission-critical workflows has brought a new level of power and relevance to the library.

What kind of support do you provide?

We offer Technical Support, Implementation Guidance, and Training for existing customers.

Can I see a demo or some example applications?

To help you understand the versatility of yWorkflow, we provide customers with access to a repository of example applications.
These hands-on examples demonstrate how to solve real-world problems and integrate with a modern technology stack. Demos are available for qualified prospects.

What are the security considerations for using yWorkflow?

As an embeddable library, yWorkflow operates within the security context of your host application. This grants you power and control, but it also means that security is a shared responsibility.

Due to the flexible nature of yWorkflow—its ability to execute custom code, interact with external systems, and manage sensitive business data—security must be considered carefully throughout the development lifecycle.

Do you provide a standalone server with a REST API?

This is a key feature on our strategic roadmap and is currently under active development. We are creating a standalone edition that will expose the full power of the yWorkflow engine through a comprehensive REST API.

To achieve this, we are working closely with a select group of design partners to find the perfect balance between the flexibility our library is known for and the ease of use that a standalone, API-driven service should provide.

How are workflows monitored and managed in production?

For integration with existing observability platforms (like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog), yWorkflow exposes key metrics via Micrometer. Additionally, a rich Java API allows you to build custom monitoring and management tools tailored to your specific operational needs.
